Avery and Related Projects

The long-anticipated start of a new film and drama center will begin next spring with the demolition of all but the façade of Avery, which will be integrated into the new center. The creation of swing space for the building’s current tenants was started this summer and continues into the fall. The third floor of Sanders Classroom was renovated for Asian Studies, classrooms, and administrative offices. A building formerly home to the Poughkeepsie Day School (which has moved into new quarters) will, as of December, become the temporary home for the film and drama department during construction of the new center. An annex at the former Day School will become the new permanent home for Security.
