Ford Scholar Jarrett Gregory ’05 and Assistant Professor of Art Jacqueline Marie Musacchio have constructed a Website (http://students.vassar.edu/jargregory/) examining the history of Vassar’s plaster cast collection, from its inception in 1866 to its almost complete dispersal and destruction in the first half of the 20th century. Part of the collection, which at one time featured over 200 pieces, is pictured here in an undated photograph of Taylor Hall. Alumnae/i with memories or anecdotes about the casts or Vassar’s Old Master copies are encouraged to contact Professor Musacchio at jamusacchio@vassar.edu; these contributions may be included in the forthcoming Loeb exhibition, Copies, Casts, and Pedagogy.
