While the baseball diamond behind Josselyn House is fine for a pick-up game on a sunny afternoon—as this alumnus perhaps discovered in Fall 1980—Vassar’s varsity baseball team requires a field more befitting their recent successes. Prentiss Fields, located near the Town Houses, is the outdoor home of Vassar’s baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey teams—and home is about to become better for these players. Thanks to the generosity of several donors, the baseball team will soon benefit from an outfield fence and dugouts, and other field sports will enjoy lighting and artificial turf.
