The World of Education

Vassar alumnae/i, faculty, and students embrace the challenges and opportunities of American education everyday. Some are attempting to address the growing gap between resources in well-to-do and poor school districts. Others are investigating alternatives to high-stakes testing—and looking abroad to the highest-performing nations for ideas. Many are examining the impact of technology on learning and asking: Can the technology we’ve come to see as distracting actually help students concentrate? And others are working to increase access to college for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds. We present a curated view of the many faces of education.
